On Monday 14th October 2002 Natalie set off with Hartlepool College to a beauty exhibition at the GMEX centre in Manchester.
Natalie studied hairdressing at Hartlepool College in her first year and passed with flying colours. She was named as 'Student of the Year.'
The following year she went on to do beauty and that was her reason for her visit to the GMEX centre on 14th October 2002.
The college were boarding their coaches to return back home on the evening and Natalie took ONE step back and was hit by a tram. She was rushed to hospital and went into a coma.
All her family and friends rushed to the hospital in Manchester and kept a bedside vigil.
On Thursday 17th October 2002, we all got the news that we didnt want to hear, Natalie was brain dead. This day devastated so many peoples lives.
Natalie was loved by so many people and this was proven at her funeral on Tuesday 29th October 2002 as hundreds of people crammed into the church, the community centre, in the church gardens and even lined the streets. Her funeral was a tribute of her life, which included personal speeches about her life, telegrams from the MP and all of Natalie's favourite songs were played. There wasnt a dry eye, it was a remarkable and unforgettable tribute. She had a send off that was fit for a 'Princess.'
Natalie was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She was bright, bubbly and her smile lit up every room that she walked into.
She loved life and she lived it to the full. She loved her nights out in Hartlepool and Newcastle.
